    GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

     

    This China Territory Sales Engineer position is responsible for promoting the Scientific Instruments electrochemistry products by working closely with the SI Sales Representatives.  This role requires for the candidate to identifying and promoting sales opportunities by providing technical support to existing users in order to secure sales growth and capture market share.  As a fully contributing member of the sales team, this role will also conduct direct selling activities for the Princeton Applied Research and Solartron Analytical Brand of products.  Further, this position will also support all sales information collection, recording and analysis as well as provide overall sales support as assigned to ensure the Scientific Instruments China business running in good efficiency and reliability.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Promote business for the Princeton Applied Research and Solartron Analytical Brands of products within the assigned territory to help the SI Sales team achieve annual orders quota and performance targets.
    • Become knowledgeable about the use and operational benefits of the Princeton Applied Research and Solartron Analytical Brand of products.  The candidate for this role will be required to understand the technical and application documentation provided by the manufacturing facilities.
    • Conduct demonstrations of the SI products and operate the assigned products (include hardware and software) before selling.  In addition, the candidate will conduct product installations and customers training after the sale.
    • Provide technical material (application note, competition information) to sales team.
    • Do technical presentations in seminar and workshop.
    • Develop long term relationships with the key accounts (experts, researchers) and insure overall customer satisfaction.
    • Conduct direct selling if required.
    • Prepare and keep updated sales records for assigned products.
    • Identify and assess new sales opportunities for existing products as well as opportunities for new product development.
    • Provide customer feedback to the SI R&D and Product Line Management Teams concerning the products that have been sold into the local territory and market.
    • Prepare a variety of status reports, including weekly significant report sand prospective customer reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:         None

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

     

    • Bachelor or Master degree in chemistry, Electrochemistry preferred.
    • 3 years’ sales/sales support/application specialist working experience considered regarding the application field above.
    • Strong ability of working independently, self-motivated.
    • Strong communication skills required, either to internal partner and customers.
    • Location in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

     

    Ability to:

    • Read, analyze, and interpret professional scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. 
    • Clear pronunciation both in Chinese and English.  Good command of English in both verbal and written.
    • Good communication with all aspects.  Skillful negotiation at tackling with challenging topics.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

     

    Ability to:

    • Apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. 
    • Apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

     

     

    REASONING ABILITY:

     

    Ability to:

     

    • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, working at heights, outdoor weather conditions, risk of radiation, vibration, to work near moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

     

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Experience of direct contact with customers.
    • Be able to work as part of a team towards a common goal.
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Be able to rationally and methodically analyze all available information in order to solve a problem.
    • Highly PC literate with the ability to use common software applications as well as the ability to solve problems and configure settings with network adapters and other devices.
    • Be self-motivated and able to carry out tasks with minimum supervision.
    • Be able to drive is preferable.

     

    Comments:

    • This position being completed will enable SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTS to support China which will ensure fast response for service to meet the market & customer expectations. This will further consolidate and expand SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTS business in China.
